For drift-reducing nozzles used on field crops the following use conditions apply:
- Within a zone of 20 m, to be calculated from the minimum distance to be kept according to the use instructions of the concerned PPP (distance to upper edge of bank), max driving speed is 5 km/h, target distance to crops is 50 cm and the given pressure is to be observed.

SDRT can be used to reduce buffer zone width - valid buffer zone / SDRT combinations are defined by the label. SDRT represents combination of sprayer, operating conditions and approved nozzle type. Reduction classes: 50 / 75 / 90 / 95% (only special conditions, e.g. hail nets in orchards). The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management publishes lists of approved spray drift reduction technology. The latest update available on this website dates from 1 February 2014.
